This 3 day ride travels through the Hope-Princeton highway to Penticton, Osoyoos and on towards Creston. Highway 3A north of Creston is the start of Destination Highway #1 in British Columbia. Beautiful sweeping roads with scenery often compared to our west coast brings you north where you board the Osprey, North America's longest free ferry ride(35 minutes) across Kootenay Lake. Continue north to New Denver, once housing Japanese Canadians during the second world war. Continue north to Nakusp, did I mention the free ride aboard a cable drawn ferry. Continue west to Vernon and Kamloops. Travel through the Thompson and Fraser Canyons and remain on the north side of the Fraser River to ride through Harrison, Misson and Maple Ridge. There are many hidden rides in and around the Fraser Valley that have wonderful scenery and nice twisty roads to explore. Glad you were able to come along for a ride.......07/2004

British Columbia's Destination Highway Number 2....Sea to Sky Highway....back roads through Duffey Lake...Lillooet and back south through the Thompson and Fraser Canyons. This loop can be done in one day from Vancouver but at a moderate pace. Sea to Sky under heavy construction until 2010 Olympics. Back roads through Duffey Lake area getting pretty rough with a lot of debris-CAUTION. If you have never ridden this route I would still recommend as the scenery is well worth it......09/2004

Take a short ferry ride over to the Sunshine Coast. Visit Molly's Reach(Gibson's Landing) made famous from the TV series-Beachcombers, stop and get a bite to eat. There are many beautiful fresh water lakes to explore along with hidden ocean coves and beaches. My favourite part is near Earl's Cove where the roads are good, fast and twisty. Hike into Skookumchuck Narrows during the tide change and watch the calm waters turn into a raging river. Have lunch at a Fish & Chip restaurant along the waterfront. This ride is truly one of the best one day rides local to Vancouver......05/2004

Head south I-5 to Fairhaven/Chuckanut Drive exit, where you enter a unique district with interesting shops to explore. Stay at the bed and breakfast or continue on to Chuckanut Drive, Bellingham's original route to California. Here you meander through homes set right on the coastline, finally entering through a mature forest tight along the coastline built high up on a cliff. The mature vegetation and scenery can be enjoyed along with plenty of turns. Stop off at the Osyter Creek Inn located near the final hairpin turn. Here you can enjoy delicious seafood prepared and served overlooking a flowing creek. Head south further on Hwy 11 to Burlington then west on I-20 to Widbey Island where you enjoy a nice drive until you arrive at Deception Pass. This bridge crosses over to continue on to Fort Casey and a ferry ride to Port Townsend.....2004
